Primary at the Buckingham Bilingual School enjoys heart-warming scenarios to improve the children’s learning processes. The curriculum model is based on the children’s competencies development; this allows them to interpret what they have learned for practical use in everyday life. The classes are made up of small groups and in these groups we always reinforce values such as; respect, kindness and good manners.
Most of the subjects are taught in English by well-qualified teachers. In fifth grade children take the Preliminary English Test (PET), a standardized test from the University of Cambridge that assesses the school’s bilingual process. This test is generally taken by older children in other schools, but at the Buckingham it is taken at an earlier age with excellent results.
To take advantage of other scenarios and instructors the children from first to third grade complement their abilities with activities and sports (swimming, squash, tennis etc.) offered by Cafam.
In Primary, information and technology tools are very important and are always present on teaching-learning processes: Reason why beginning on
4th and 5th grade the school provides a personal computer for every student.
With special attention and team work, with parents, elementary children enjoy their academic achievements and the development of their abilities and talents.
According to our vision to form citizens of the world, the school is seeking the certification of the PYP (Primary years Program) of the International Baccalaureate program. This program is focused on the whole development of the children, in order to form them as seekers, inquirers not only in the classroom but also with the world outside and to prepare them to actively participate in their learning process throughout their life.
